Visit the city of Saugues during your stay…

« Saugues, your second stop on the GR65, one of the paths on the Way of St. James pilgrimage, is located in the heart of the Gévaudan region. It is a city full of history and legends. »

After hiking the Way of St. James, (GR65), other beautiful short paths, or taking a car or motorcycle ride through the area, here are some other suggestions on how to relax and enjoy our beautiful village after your arrival here in Saugues.
We suggest visiting The Museum of the Beast of Gévaudan, which has a display of 22 scenes that recounts the history of a mysterious beast. It killed and devoured more than 100 people between 1764 and 1767!
The Tower of the English, from the beginning of the 13th century, was the keep of a castle ravaged in 1788. A visit of Saugues and its narrow streets, St. Médard Church, and the Chapel of Penitents (quite surprising)!

If you would like to relax, there is a natural swimming pool, located near the exit of Saugues and treated with just plants instead of chlorine and other chemicals, or you could simply rest at the edge of the lake, enjoying its rustic landscape. You could also take advantage of a number of other small shops to satisfy your wants and needs.

We are here to help ensure that your stay in our Bed & Breakfast corresponds to all your expectations so that you’ll look forward to returning to our beautiful and intriguing region full of history and legends.

We look forward to seeing you soon at LaFlore….
